RSS = Loss of Brand and Personality

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is great, however, have you noticed the following?

  1. By reading blogs/Web sites in a RSS product, you tend to forget who authors the site. Not a good thing for branding.
  2. Every blog/Web site has a personality. By reading these sites via RSS, the personality of the site tends to disappear -- the graphics, the phone number, e-mail address -- the fun.
  3. RSS readers are super, but their "look and feel" are very boring.
I don't have the solution. I'm just stating the problem. Maybe Dave Winer can work on it.
